Homologous chromosomes line up in the center of the cell at metaphase I.
MEIOSIS:
Meiosis is a type of cell division in which a single cell produces four genetically different daughter cells. Meiosis reduces the chromosome number of the daughter cells by half. Meiosis occurs in a two step division process namely meiosis I and meiosis II. Meiosis generally consists of four stages namely Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase. Metaphase is the stage where chromosomes line up at the cell's equator or cell plate. However, in meiosis I, homologous chromosomes line up while in meiosis II, sister chromatids line up. Therefore, homologous chromosomes line up in the center of the cell at metaphase I.Learn more at: link
