G What benefits do muscle cells gain from anaerobic respiration in this situation? When pyruvate is transformed into lactic acid, four more ATP ATP molecules are produced that can power muscle movement while NAD + NAD+ is regenerated. For every glucose molecule that enters glycolysis, the cell generates, without oxygen, two ATP ATP molecules that can keep the muscles moving. The oxygen generated as a waste product during lactic acid fermentation can be used by the mitochondria to increase their output of ATP ATP . Adding electrons from NADH NADH to pyruvate regenerates NAD + NAD+ , so that glycolysis can continue, and produces lactic acid, a waste product that can diffuse out of the cell.

For every glucose molecule that enters glycolysis, the cell generates, without oxygen, two ATP
Explanation:
When the muscle exerts anaerobic respiration, cells begin to metabolize glucose to produce ATP for the muscle. In anaerobic respiration, glycolysis is partially matabolized, that is, it does not contain all the molecules that are used. Each molecule of glucose generates two molecules of pyruvate acid and provides only two molecules of ATP to the muscle. This process also generates two molecules of NADH2.
After that, the pyruvate acid reacts with NADH2, generating two molecules of lactic acid and releasing six more molecules of ATP.
