General adaptation syndrome is the symptoms that occur when the body trying to respond to a stressor. The first phase is alarm which will be giving the body a burst of energy. After that will be resistance when the body starts to adapt. The last phase would be exhaustion after the energy is all used.

All I know is that it has something to do with the Fetus, they typically run all these tests while the baby is still in the Uturus (I am only aware of this because my mom had a baby 1 year ago)
