Plants take in CO2 from the atmosphere and, using the energy in light, combine it with water to make sugars they use as food. Oxygen is also released through this process. Plants are known as producers because they can produce, or make, their own food. What process do plants undergo that enables them to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugars?
