The slender, curved bone that is located inferior to the skull between the mandible and larynx is the bone. it is unique in that is does not articulate with any bones in the body.

The hyoid bone is the only bone in the human body that does not articulate with any other bones. The hyoid bone's main function is regulating tongue functions- movement and swallowing.
