When describing a community, a biologist would discuss every population that lives together in an area.
A community is a group of various interdependent organisms inhabiting the same region and interacting with each other. Every population that lives together in a particular area constitutes a community. For example, a community may consist of bacteria and fungi in soil, forest of trees and other plants growing in the same soil, and animals living on the trees within the same area. The general structure of a community is determined by factors such as the population of organisms in the given area, the number of each species present there and the interactions among the organisms.
