You should have been able to detect a stronger pulse in your radial artery as opposed to your brachial artery. Explain in terms of elastance and compliance why it is easier to detect pulses the further we measure from the aorta.

The blood flow in aorta causes the decrease in diasystolic blood pressure in the aorta.As a result pulse pressure gets increased.As some of the blood that ejects during the systole regularities go back into the left ventricle during the diasystole period. So,it is easier to detect the pulses far from the aorta.

Always keep your both eyes open (it takes some practice) but for those who wore glasses never let your glasses hit the eyepiece lens and never view a slide without a coverslip.
