Metamorphic rocks
Explanation:
A metamorphic rock is a rock that forms when a rock is changed by heat, pressure or chemical reactions.
A metamorphic rock is often called a changed rock.
Exposure of a rock into conditions of high temperature and pressure causes changes to the rock. There is intensive mineralogical changes occurring also being driven by presence of fluids. Metamorphic rocks often forms in the subsurface when a rock becomes buried. Surface activities such as volcanic eruptions and impact of a bollide on earth can also cause the formation of these rocks. They can form from both igneous and sedimentary rocksОтвет:
Metamorphic rocks
Explanation:
The word metamorphic comes from Greek and it means "To Change Form". Metamorphic rocks are formed from parent rock with the change of pressure and heat. The original rock (protolith) is subjected to heat (temperatures greater than 150 to 200 °C) and pressure (more than 100 megapascals ), causing profound physical or chemical change. Metamorphic rocks make up a large part of the Earth's crust and form 12% of the Earth's land surface.
