 A.  “I was just unlucky.”  

Explanation: Self-serving bias attributes positive events to people's character but attribute negative events to external factors.

B. I wasn’t that interested in winning”  cannot be true on self serving bias because if he wasn't interested in winning then he would never join the competition.

C. “I really wasn’t trying that hard”  because if he a finalist why would't he try.

D. “I’m not a good enough speller”  is not right because it relates the negative event to his own character.
