Prepare a construction schedule for the following work items to be installed by the contractor. Identify a critical path.
Include:
• Submittal preparation by contractor,
• Submittal review (1 week by engineer)
• Order lead time (2 weeks for earthwork and pavement markings; 4 weeks for drainage materials, 6 weeks for paving, curb and drainage castings; 12 weeks for traffic and lighting: 16 weeks for trees)
• Order of construction, duration of items, and interrelation between items.
• Keep crews consistently employed - do not assume you have any other projects for the crews to work on.
• Keep crews out of each other's way
• Earthwork/drainage/concrete/curb crew - one set of people and equipment
• Street lighting foundations (excavation and concrete piers) 8/day/crew
• Traffic signal foundations (excavation and concrete piers) 4/day/crew
• Drainage systems mainline (trench, pipe, backfill with native soil, compaction
6-inch lifts, trench pavement repair) 100 ft/day crew.
