Read the following excerpt from "a modest proposal" by jonathan swift:
I have reckoned upon a medium that a child just born will weigh 12 pounds, and in a solar year, if tolerably nursed, will increase to 28 pounds.

I grant this food will be somewhat dear, and therefore very proper for landlords, who, as they have already devoured most of the parents, seem to have the best title to the children.

Based on this excerpt, what is most likely the opinion of the author (not the narrator)?

A. Swift believes the landlords have to take care of themselves first.

B. Swift thinks that the younger babies would make "dear" food.

C. Swift believes that landlords have taken advantage of the poor.

D. Swift thinks that one-year-old babies will become fine-dining fare.
