Explain what elements prevented the use of the commonplace from simply resulting in poetry that is dull and boring.

Poetry offers a different variety of rhyme which makes it more enjoyable to read.

Explanation: majority of commonplace writing consisted of poets picking common objects yes, but using them in a way that everyone could relate to these objects. They took the ordinary and made something out of it.

It was a cold night glasgow, me and tim whom you will grow to love were sitting patiently. waiting for what a train, we knew we were at the end of our ropes. one of us constantly being sick. i know he is prone to hemorrhoids so i don't mind always being his dirty hole but tonight perhaps i was more than that. what a profound thought, you can put as much sugar on something as you wish but if you're  not happy it'll still taste like garbage. i am not happy when i'm curled over on the toilet dying of busted bubble diphtheria. as it were we are all alone but johnny was finally dead i'm the killer and i shagged john boy's esophagus. deal with it is what i told tim as he watched in horror. tim managed to kill me in one punch i do have a very delicate french figure. where am i now here i am telling a story in a vast region of the 5th dimension. i only wish tim didn't have to also be the murderer it sort of ruined the story.
