replace all the blue nouns with stronger nouns that do a better job identifying the objects. (it is ok to use more words than were used originally.) you can replace more than the ones that are marked.
replace all the green verbs with stronger verbs that do a better job identifying the actions involved. (it is ok to use more words than were used originally.) you can replace more than the ones that are marked.
add colorful and vivid adjectives and adverbs that will improve the image of the scene.
replace overused nouns with pronouns.

Tom suggested that Tom's morning was starting out well when Tom smelled delicious breakfast cooking as he walked up. Tom was starving so Tom sat up, threw some clothes on and rushed to eat.  Tom's mother commit Tom his delicious breakfast. He heard rumbling outside and saw that George was outside in his car, waiting for Tom. Tom reached for his coat.
"I have to go" he said.
"But you haven't eaten" replied Tom's Mother
"I'm late!" Tom yelled. Tom rushed out the door and ran to George's vehicle. His mother watched as the car went away and then cleared off the tabe.
"Happy birthday, Tom." she said.
