Jameelah's parties were a circus. But instead of lions jumping through hoops
of fire, it would be George showing up wearing a foot-high paper top hat.
Instead of bags of peanuts, there would be a huge spread of gourmet food,
which usually included my favorite: pigs in a blanket. There were clowns, but
they were disguised as kids from our school trying to out-do each other with
their goofy antics. If you missed one of Jameelah's parties, you'd be hearing
about it for months afterward,
