It is true. Our emotions, such as anger, love, and fear are reactions of the mind and body.
EXPLANATION:
The brain is an important part of the human body because it controls and coordinates everything from the body movement to the heart rate. The brain also takes part in controlling and processing human emotions. All of our emotions, from happy, anger, love, and fear are controlled by our brain. Part of the brain which is responsible for emotional and behavioral responses is the limbic system. A limbic system is a group of interconnected structures which is located in the deeper part of the brain.
Here are the parts of the limbic system which are responsible for the human's emotion:
- Hypothalamus: this part of the brain is responsible for sexual response, regulating body temperature, and hormone release.
- Hippocampus: this part of the brain is responsible for preserving and retrieving memories. It is also responsible for controlling our understanding of the spatial dimensions.
- Amygdala: this part of the brain is responsible to coordinate humans response toward the environment, especially the ones which trigger emotion. This part takes an important role in anger and fear.
- Limbic cortex: this part of the brain is responsible for mood, judgment, and motivation. The limbic cortex has two structures; the parahippocampal gyrus and the cingulate gyrus.
Humans' emotions are mostly controlled by those parts of the brain. The fear is controlled by the amygdala which is followed by the hypothalamus. The anger is controlled by the amygdala, which stimulates the hypothalamus and gets an impact from the prefrontal cortex. The love is controlled by the hypothalamus which triggers other parts of the human body to release hormones, such as vasopressin, dopamine, and oxytocin.
