Question: I want to quit guitar, but I'm not sure how to explain to my parents that I no longer want to pursue it, how?
Before you tell them anything, ask yourself why? Is it because you don't have an interest in playing it, or you are getting too busy to do it? Perhaps you have another instrument you'd like to take? If it's revolving around the reason that you just have no interest or you don't feel like it anymore, change things up a little. Don't stick to the boring classics of our time, try something new! But what if it's another instrument you want? You can always trade out that guitar for a much more interesting drum set, or something like that. Make sure that the reason you don't want to pursue guitar anymore is because you can't. If it's not, do everything in your power to try and make things better. But let's say that you do decide to quit against all conflicts. Find a good time, then be blunt about it. Explain carefully why you're finished. Make sure there's a compromise behind it to, like, you'll spend the extra time you get to study on homework! It important that it's a win win for everyone. As your parents' child, be respectful and understand that they do a lot for you. They love you and will do whatever you want if they're your loving parents, but you still need to understand that money doesn't grow on trees and it's really hard to just 'quit'.
Uplifting Note: Music is one key to someone's heart.
