Read the excerpt from Act 2 Scene 1 of Julious Caeser. Portia. Brutus is wise and were he not in health,
He would embrase the means to come by it
You have some sick offence within your mind
Which by the right and virtue of my place
I ought to know of, And upon my knees
I charm you by my once, commended by beauty
By all your vows of love, and that great vow,
Which did incorporate and make us one
That you unfold to me your self your half
Why you are heavy, and what men tonight
Have had resort to you- for here have been
Some six por seven, who did hide their faces
Even from darkness
Which summary of the passage is the best?
a. Brutus says he has no personal reason to kill Caesar, but wants to anyway.
b. Brutus decides that, for the good of the people,Caesar must be killed. If they crowned Caesar, they would be giving him power, with which he could do damage.
c. Brutus compares Caesar to a snake and says that they need to tread carefully around him.
d. Brutus declares that Caesar must die, though he has nothing personal against him. He worries about how Caesar would change if he were crowned and explains that evil comes from good—much like dangerous snakes can come out on sunny days, when everyone needs to watch where they step. He says that Caesar may do damage if he is crowned.
