There is no better workout for the body than climbing. It forces a person to use his or her own weight against gravity. This ends up working almost every muscle in the arms, legs, and trunk. I was uncertain about this until I went out for my first climb. I was hooked immediately. My brother, who I greatly look up to, introduced me to climbing three years ago. Since then, I have lost twenty-five pounds and am in the best shape of my life. I eat better. I sleep better. I live better. How did this author develop a bias in favor of climbing?
