In this chapter, Helen Keller describes her first experiences with her new teacher.  Keller finally understood the idea that a word Anne Sullivan, her new teacher, is spelling “water” corresponds to the water flowing over Keller’s hand.  This realization led Keller to create connections and open doors of knowledge and opportunity previously closed to her.

"The Crucible" is a play that was written by Arthur Miller and it was published in 1953. As such, proceedings must continue because they are the correct thing to do and Proctor, as a good Christian, must put himself at the service of righteousness and help Hale continue in his efforts to get rid of the evil.
