Which of the following sentences does not belong in this illustration paragraph? The central California surf break known as Mavericks is one of the most difficult places to surf in the world. It's not like the waves at Makaha in Hawaii, where big-wave surfing began. The challenge begins with the paddle out to the lineup, an exhausting half mile through strong currents and frigid water. The wave itself is huge and has a steep face, making for very difficult and intimidating takeoffs. And waiting just inside of the takeoff zone is a labyrinth of large, sharp rocks the surfer can be washed into. Clearly, Mavericks presents a unique and hazardous set of challenges.
