Generally, argument-based questions consist of certain propositions/statements/premises followed by two/more arguments. As you would guess, the given arguments may be in favour of or against the statement. The purpose of such questions is to assess your decision making ability. You are supposed to analyse the arguments to select the appropriate answer option. So, firstly, you need to determine the strength and relevancy of the argument A strong argument that has true proof or premises is considered cogent. When an essay writing is said to be cogent, it means that the argument is very good and believable with strong evidence to back up the conclusion. A weak argument is not cogent because is not true and has premises that is false.Validity, strength and weakness are logical properties of arguments that characterize the logical relationship between the premises and the conclusion. Both valid and strong arguments satisfy the Logic Condition for an argument to be good. Weak arguments fail to satisfy the Logic Condition and so are automatically ruled out as bad.
