Write a "how to" article. use only necessary words, but do not omit important facts. in writing the article, apply what you have learned about sentences, paragraph development, connectives and transitions. you may select a subject from the following list or choose your own.
how to
take a picture with a camera
catch a fish
program a computer
clean a fish
set a table for dinner
load the dishwasher
saddle and bridle a horse
develop film
decorate a christmas tree
record from a cd
carve a jack-o'-lantern
play backgammon (chess, checkers, monopoly, etc.)
paint with acrylics
take care of a three-year old
here's a review of the eight points you will need to use.
1. title: the title, usually in larger or darker print, tells the purpose of the instruction sheet.
2. subtitles: the subtitles are usually capitalized and list the different parts of the instructions.
3. numbered steps: the steps of the process are numbered to guide the reader in following the proper order.
4. explanation of how: exact information on how to do a specific thing enables the reader to successfully complete tasks never before attempted.
5. explanation of why: the reader is told why he is doing a particular action to aid his understanding and thus provide for better results.
6. use of examples: the use of examples to clarify the how's and why's of the process being described.
7. use of contrast, or antithesis: this device make directions clear by creating a mental picture of something that is unlike something else.
8. use of comparison, or analogy: this device also gives a mental picture so that an instruction is more readily understood. for example, the directions may say, "the clearance should be 1/32" (half the width of a penny)." you may not know how wide 1/32 of an inch is, but you can imagine the thickness of a penny.

How-to: Be Impeached as President
Presidency is a position that nearly every American dreams of, yet almost none will ever succeed in that dream. With such a powerful role as being the head of a country for a few years, surely a person could not have those privileges taken away. The truth is, there are ways to be 'fired' from being president. This act has only been done twice, or three depending on your viewpoint. The term for this is called impeachment.
1. Blatantly break a rule in place for government officials
Andrew Johnson was the 17th president of the United States. In 1867, a year before his impeachment, the Tenure of Office Act was passed by the United States Senate. This Act restricted presidential power by not allowing them to dismiss certain office-holders without approval from the Senate. President Johnson had been having issues with the Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton, since Lincoln's term. Johnson had attempted to replace Stanton without the Senate, knowing they would not approve. This ultimately led to the first presidential impeachment.
2. Cause a scandal.
Sexual harassment is what ultimately led to Bill Clinton's impeachment. Clinton was accused of sexual harassment by Paula Jones in 1998. By 1999, the Senate approved of his impeachment.
Richard Nixon resigned, but his impeachment was already being considered by the time he left office. Watergate is a well-known scandal that occurred in the 1970s involving President Nixon and his administration being part of the break-in and wiretapping of the Democratic Party's headquarters. It should be known that Nixon was a Republican.
"People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. I've earned everything I've got." - Richard Nixon, 1973
3. Deny accusations
In the cases of Clinton and Nixon, both denied all accusations thrown at them. Clinton, who is still alive, continues to turn down his involvement in sexual harassment towards Paula Jones. Until Nixon was proven guilty, he denied him and his administration to ever be part of a crime such as Watergate.
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman" - Bill Clinton.
4. Trial.
If you have correctly followed the previous steps, the trial may take a few days to a few months depending on the case. The Senate requires a two-thirds vote to finalize impeachment of an office-holder.
5. Impeachment.
Assuming the Senate voted accordingly, you should now find yourself out of office and without a job. Your impeachment has been finalized, and your reputation has been dented considerably. Congratulations!

Dr. King's main conception is the law is again being inequitable. Dr. King in paragraph 4 tells why he got apprehended and how the law is being inequitable, " Now there is nothing wrong with an ordinance which requires a permit for a parade, but when the ordinance is used to preserve segregation and to deny citizens the First Amendment privilege of peaceful assembly and peaceful protest, then it becomes unjust."
In paragraph 6 Dr. King utilizes what Hitler did in Germany and shows how even back in that time it was inequitable. " It was "illegal" to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler's Germany." When he tells us that, it shows how racist and inequitable those times were.
I had this question.
