Here are MY own personal opinions:
-- First of all, very few people outside Israel know what's "... happening in Israel". We know what we read or hear in the news, and that usually concentrates on spectacular scenes and events outside Israel that involve Israel in some way and can hold the attention of the audience for a few days or weeks. What's happening IN Israel is very boring, and the international TV and newspapers don't much bother with it because it can't hold an audience and it doesn't sell papers.
-- What's happening IN Israel is: Roughly 8 million people trying to get along. They do things like go to school, work at jobs, get married, have children, buy cars and houses or apartments, surf the internet, hang out with friends, go to the beach, read books, go out to dinner, watch TV, play computer games, do a hitch of military service, skateboard, mow the lawn, start businesses, write software, run farms, drive taxis, work in factories, go to church or mosque or synagogue, take vacations, have arguments about politics, have elections, . . . , . . . , . . . , . . . , . . . , and a million other things that you might do if you lived in France, the USA, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, England, or Argentina.
-- But life in Israel is a little bit different from what it's like in most of those other places, though, because hatred of Jews is widespread in many countries around the world, and most of the other countries within a thousand miles of Israel actively incite their people and stir it up. Several of them openly brag that their objective is to kill Jews and destroy Israel. Several of them have attacked Israel with their armies on numerous occasions since modern Israel was founded 66 years ago. This has a tendency to affect life in Israel somewhat and, like, put something into the atmosphere that you don't find in, say, Canada or the USA.
-- So, to summarize my opinion, I would say this:
. . . . . I am very much in favor of what's happening IN Israel. ... (Especially in my daughter's home, where she lives with her husband and three of my world-class grandchildren, and also in my brother's house, way over on the other side of the country and way up the coast, almost 29 miles from my daughter.)
. . . . . I think it would change a lot of people's ideas if they had any clue about life in Israel.
. . . . . I am not so pleased with the constant pressure that Israel is under, surrounded by other countries who intend to kill the Jews and destroy Israel as soon as they get the chance, and keep telling the world about it, and keep telling their own people that whatever problem they may have is the Jews' fault.
. . . . . If I had any authority in the government of Israel, I would support and strengthen the policies of high ethics, morality, freedom, equality, and human rights that Israel has and should be world-famous for. I would find a way to do a much better PR job than Israel is doing. And I would commit myself to the Number-One job of any government . . . the continued defense of its citizens.
And that's my answer to your question. I'm glad the way it worked out. It puts me just over 20,000 points ... if the moderators don't delete it. I've accomplished what I wanted to do on this website, and now I think that I shall leave the site. All of my best wishes to you, for success in Middle School, and for everything good that may come after it.
