(4 points) when a bill has been introduced to the house of representatives, its strengths and weaknesses are debated. during this process, supporters and opponents of the bill have an opportunity to influence their fellow representatives to support their positions. after the debate process, the bill is sent to a congressional committee, where committee members decide what to do with it. they can report it favorably and send it to the house for a vote, or kill it in a number of different ways. they can also make changes to the bill before presenting the final version. if the bill makes it out of committee, all members of the house get to vote on it. if a majority of representatives vote for the bill, it passes and is sent to the president to be signed.
