The correct answer is D) James Madison.
Much of the First Amendment to the Constitution like Freedom of Speech and Religion was first thought of by James Madison.
During the Constitutional Convention held in the city of Philadephia, Pennsylvania, 55 delegates from the states spend months debating about the new kind of government for the United States. Some delegates wanted to fix weak spots of the Articles of Confederation. Others, like the Federalist Alexander Hamilton, wanted a new form of government based on a strong central government. After many debates between federalists and anti-federalists, the Bill of Rights, drafted by James Madison, made improvements possible.

The War(s) with Mexico changed a lot of things. It brought a lot to the table.
Politically:
As a nation we hadn't quite yet developed a true sense of patriotism and even though "we" were proud to be American we didn't have that "America, Fundip Yeah!" zeal quite yet. As this war started a lot of news influence helped develop a lot of that. It changed how the people saw Mexicans and it gave the incentive for us to go to war to "take back our land" and "stop the invasions."
Socially:
This war brought a lot of people together and made it quite a "unite against a common enemy" situation.
Geographically:
This war made a big difference in size. We acquired "California." I use that loosely because what was "California" then is now Cali, Nevada, and some of Arizona and Oregon. (Don't quote the Oregon part haha). We wanted this land because we found gold there. We, as Americans, Decided that we wanted "what was rightfully ours," and we would do what it took to get it. But really we just wanted gold.
If you want any clarification or anything of that sort, let me know! :) I hope I helped and if I did a brainliest would be awesome! :)
