Article Template Directions: You may use this template write a newspaper article to convince people to agree with your position on whether to ratify the Constitution. If the first letter of your name is A-L, you will write as
a Federalist
. If the first letter of your name is N-Z, you will write as an Anti-Federalist. After drafting each paragraph, delete the directions in bold font so only your article content remains. Be sure to write in
complete sentences and use formal style
1. Write an introductory paragraph that clearly states your position on ratifying the Constitution, as a Federalist or Anti-Federalist.
2. Write a second paragraph that explains your point of view on how the government is set up under the Constitution.
3. Write a third paragraph that explains your point of view on including of a bill of rights. Use at least one quote to support your argument. Be sure to explain what the quote means and
how it connects to your point.
4. Write a fourth paragraph to explain why you disagree with the opposing position. For example, if you are writing as a Federalist, you will explain why you disagree with the Anti-
Federalist stance. Use at least one new quote to explain why it is not a valid point or how it supports your position.
5. Write a strong concluding paragraph that summarizes your argument and encourages others to support you.
