Explanation:
1.The Indian subcontinent has three geographical zones: the fertile northern plains, the dry Deccan plateau, and the coastal plains on both the west and east side of the Deccan. Most of the population lived in the northern plains, lying south of the Himalayas where many rivers begin, and the coastal plains that depend on the seasonal monsoons. The Deccan is mostly arid and poor for agriculture, thus was sparsely populated.
2. Many historians believe the Indus civilization collapsed because of changes to the geography and climate of the area. Movements in the Earth's crust (the outside layer) might have caused the Indus river to flood and change its direction.
3.It seems the Indus people regarded certain animals, like bulls and buffalo, as sacred. The Aryan civilization also valued cattle because of their importance in providing food and clothing, measuring wealth in cattle. These practices influenced modern Hindu beliefs, such as the sacred cow.
4.Once Aryans settled in northern India, a tribal political system developed into independent kingdoms. Rajahs, or tribal chiefs, led each kingdom. Society was divided into four groups: Brahmins, the learners; Kshatriyas, the powerful leaders; Vaisyas, the producers; Sudras, the servers.
5.In The Mahabharata, the value of performing one's duty and the religious beliefs that the soul is immortal reveals Aryan values. The Ramayana also reflects Aryan values with the ideas of the virtuous leader and loyal and supportive woman that evolved over thousands of years.
