The greatest concession that federalist supporters of the Constitution made to antifederalist
opponents was to promise to add a bill of rights as soon as the Constitution was ratified. Should
the antifederalists therefore be honored as founding fathers of American liberty? How would
the Constitution have been viewed if the first ten amendments (the Bill of Rights) had not been
added?
