B. African Americans.
Established in Syracuse, New York in 1864, the National Equal Rights League (NERL) advanced full and quick citizenship for African Americans. Made amid the Civil War, the League based its call for full citizenship as remuneration for military administration in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. They contended that the penances of African Americans on the front line qualified every single dark male for the vote and every dark man and ladies to full citizenship.
The founders of the NERL included Henry Highland Garnet, Frederick Douglass, and John Mercer Langston, among other unmistakable pioneers. In spite of the fact that it started in New York, it rapidly spread all through the nation following the Civil War.
