The seemingly confused and haphazard plan of Palace of Knossos, built around 1950 BCE, the ruins of which stand near the city of Heraklion on the north coast of Crete.
Explanation:
Palace of Knossos was said to have a labyrinth which house a Minotaur. This particular labyrinth was said to be designed by Daedalus for King Minos of Knossos on Crete so as to cage the Minotaur.
However, between the late 19th and early 20th century, English archeologist Arthur Evans uncovered the ruins of the palace, where he found the complexities of the palace architecture, and different images of bull and double-axe motifs on the wall, which made him to conclude that the palace of Knossos was the actual site of labyrinth of Minotaur.
