People that lived on the rural side of the country dealt with different kinds of struggles like crops that wouldn't grow, the Dust Bowl that took place during the 1930's, crops that wouldn't sell, and advanced farm equipment that left many out of the job. Farmers grew angry and desperate. During World War I, farmers worked hard to produce record crops and livestock. When prices fell they tried to produce even more to pay their debts, taxes and living expenses. In the early 1930s prices dropped so low that many farmers went bankrupt and lost their farms.
(Not sure if this is wrong, and I'm sorry if it is, but this is most of what I could find)
