Option: Hills.
Explanation:
Boston began tearing down its hills to make new land that remained filled with wetlands and marshes. The peninsula had several hills, including Mt. Vernon, Pemberton Hill, Beacon Hill, Fort Hill, and Copp’s Hill. By 1775, the Boston city was built with a dam, creating a pond called Mill pond. The Dam, used for giving power to grist mills and sawmills, until the early 1800s when there was no need for them in the area. The Boston Mill Corporation took the task to fill in Mill pond. According to the plan, the new plot in future used for building housing for working-class people. Beacon Hill and Copp’s hill cut down to fill the pond. The gravel was put in the pond using shovels, and horse-drawn wagons which took almost 21 years to complete (1807 to 1828).
