What freedoms are ensured by the Bill of Rights?
The Bill of Rights ensures American’s rights in relation to the government. It guarantees civil rights and liberties to the individuals, like freedom of speech, press, and religion. It sets new rules for the due process of law and reserves all powers not delegated to the Federal Government to the people or the States.
Explain how the Bill of Rights can be considered a compromise between Federalists and anti-federalists.
The Bill of Rights was a compromise between Federalists and Anti-Federalists because the Anti-Federalists feared that the creation of a strong federal government would remove states and individual rights. Because of that, they compromised in creating a Bill of Rights that protect the individuals against a strong central government. Because of that, the Bill of Rights at first was only aimed against the Federal government, it took some time to the US Supreme Court to apply it to the States governments.
