Climate change is impacting the foothills of the Andes Mountains by melting them. 22% of the the surface area of these tropical glaciers have already disappeared within the last 30 years. In the dry seasons so many of the people and the wild life in the area depend on these mountains to provide drinking water. Not only that but these tropical glaciers play a key role in regulating the water supply for these peruvians.
