the Soviet victory at Stalingrad
Explanation:
The Battle of Stalingrad lasted a little more than six months, from the end of July 1942 until February 2, 1943, perhaps the bloodiest battle of World War II with about 1.5 million dead. Moreover, this was a turning point for the end of World War II. The Battle of Stalingrad had four main phases: 1º The defensive phase, until 19 of November of 1942; 2. The Russian offensive to the north and south of Stalingrad, which led to the siege of the German forces in the city; 3. The attempt of the Germans to succor their troops without success in Stalingrad; 4th The destruction of the German units surrounded (January 1943).
The Battle of Stalingrad changed the ways of World War II and put the Germans in a defensive position. After this episode, the Soviets organized an attack for Berlin in order to exterminate with Adolf Hitler. With the efforts of the Allied troops, the Soviets could end the Second War in 1945.
