What was the result of the disagreement within the Cabinet on the question of the national bank? The issues was tabled until a later date so other issues could be dealt with. Hamilton convinced Washington that the objectives of the bank were within the authority granted to the government by the Constitution, so he signed the bill into law, establishing the national bank. Washington did not support this plan so it never passed. Hamilton couldn't convince Washington so he took it to the public through the national newspapers. Jefferson and Madison parted ways and never spoke of it again.
