The exchange of goods led to economic growth.
Explanation:
The Silk Road refers to road networks that connected the Western World to the Eastern world, or rather Europe to Asia. It derived it's name from the Chinese Silk that travelled from China to Europe and stretched for over 4,000 miles with origins in the 1st Century BC.
Many other goods were traded along this route and countries that participated saw economic growth due to trade of goods and exchange of ideas that were then chanelled towards nation building.
Even mere cities and towns on the routes saw prosperity because the merchants would stop in their towns to rest or trade and this gave rise to local economic growth as well.
The information exchanged on this road facilitated the growth of empires and long such as China, Rome and Egypt.
