Statement and explanation: The murder in Wounded Knee took place on December 29, 1890, on the Lakota wood Ridge Indian reserve in injured Knee Creek, South Dakota. This commotion was sparked by the shadow party movement and the killing of Chief Sitting Bull. It affected this seventh US troops under Colonel James W. Forsyth who collided with the Lakota Sioux. The Lakota Sioux were headed by Spotted deer, also called Big bottom. This battle resulted in the murder of almost 400 Lakota Sioux the number of which were women and babies.
