Why did the pilgrims settle at plymouth instead of in virginia? native americans prevented the pilgrims from landing on virginia’s shores. the pilgrims were blown off-course by a storm and landed far to the north. the colonists in virginia suggested the pilgrims go elsewhere as virginia was getting crowded. the pilgrims decided they would be safer from persecution in their own place away from english law.
