1. As you can see from the diagram, the general shape of your tent is parabolic. The base of the tent is 6 feet wide. At a point inside the tent that is 1 foot from the

Using the appropriate quadratic calculations, determine if it is possible for BB, a member of the Pythagoreans who is 6 feet tall, to stand up straight in the tent.
Hint: Place the tent on the x-axis and centre the middle off the tent on the y-axis.
2. You decide to build a fence in the shape of a rectangle around your tent. The tent takes up an area that has dimensions 6 ft by 5 ft. You wish to increase the fenced-in area by creating a border of uniform width around the tent. If the total area to be fenced is 90 ft^2. What is the width of the border around the tent? (You must write and solve an equation) please help!!!
