Surface area of the cube:

$6 \times (2 \frac{1}{2} ) ^{2}$

$6 \times ( \frac{5}{2} ) ^{2}$

$6 \times \frac{5}{2} \times \frac{5}{2}$

$\frac{3 \times 5 \times 5}{2}$

$\frac{75}{2}$

$37 \frac{1}{2} \: {units}^{2}$
