Graphing linear equations by nicole hogue. due on nov 13th, 11: 59 pm note for example, the equation of the line below is y=\frac{2}{5}x-1. every point you see on this line is a solution. for example, (0,-1) is a point on this line. when (0,-1) is plugged into the original equation you get, -1 = (2/5)(0)-1 which is simplified to -1 = -1 which is true, making (0,-1) a solution to y=\frac{2}{5}x-1. i could continue this process with any point on the line because the line is created out of solutions to the equation. yay math.
