Ah! Thank you for a little challenge!
Step-by-step explanation:
To do this, we need to first find our new lengths!
Height=![50+x](/tpl/images/0679/0053/65326.png)
Radius=![20+x](/tpl/images/0679/0053/414fd.png)
Now, to find the Volume!
Using the volume formula for a cylinder(v=pi*r^2*h)
So, we have our equation! let's solve!
Now, I'm guessing you had trouble with it because it looked really scary.
So what I did in the first step was expand (20+x)^2, and I used the special formula(forgot what else it was called, (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2)
Next, I multiplied the expand form of that with (50+x), and the way to do that is by multiplying each term in the parentheses with every term in the next parentheses(distributive property).
So, uh, that's it! Not very scary, just a bit of in-head math!
Hope this helps! If you want to learn more or need more help, check out Khan Academy for the "squares of binomials" or "polynomials"

143 inches
Step-by-step explanation:
Let the triangle be
inches long.
Then the perimeter of the equilateral triangle will be
inches.
Let the length of the square also be
inches.
Then the perimeter is![4l](/tpl/images/0014/5164/c53f3.png)
It was given that the perimeter of the equilateral triangle is 77 inches more than the perimeter of the square.
So we can write the relation
Also, the side of the triangle is 55 inches longer than the side of the square.
So we write
or ![l=s-55...eqn2](/tpl/images/0014/5164/1c2db.png)
We put equation (2) into equation (1) to get;
We expand the bracket to get;
Hence the triangle is 143 inches long.
