How to write a point-slope equation if given (x,y) and slope

Point slope equation : y - y1 = m(x - x1)

ur points (x,y) are going to be subbed into the equation as (x1,y1)
ur slope is represented by m

Example :
(2,-1)x1 = 2 and y1 = -1
slope(m) = 3

y - y1 = m(x - x1)...be sure and pay very close attention to ur signs.
y - (-1) = 3(x - 2)we are not done yet...distribute the negative
y + 1 = 3(x - 2)
