The angle addition postulate states that if D is in the interior of ∠ABC then ∠ABD + ∠CBD = ∠ ABC
The intersecting lines postulate states that if two lines intersect, then they intersect in exactly one point.
The point postulate states that through any two points passes exactly one line.
The segment addition postulate states that if we are given two points on a line segment, A and B, a third point D lies on the line segment AB if and only if the distances between the points meet the requirements of the equation
AD + DB = AB.
As you can see, the segment addition postulate justifies the statement " If D is between A and B, then segment AD plus segment DB equals to segment AB."
