The Transitive Property: if a = b and b = c, then a = c
This makes sense - if a and b are the same number and b and c are the same number, then a and c must be the same number.
Example: 3 + 2 = b and b = 5, therefore 3 + 2 = 5
This property works for congruent geometry as well... so we can use it to do the proof. We know that ∠5 ≅ ∠6, because that's a given. Then, we can prove that ∠6 ≅ ∠7, because of the Vertical Angles Property. If you look these two equalities, you can see the similarity to the definition ( ∠5 is a, ∠6 is b, and ∠7 is c). Therefore, since we know that ∠5 and ∠6 must have the same measure and ∠6 and ∠7 must have the same measure, it follows logically that ∠5 and ∠7 have the same measure.
I hope this helps prepare you for your final (good luck by the way). Here's a link that might help a little: http://www.mathwords.com/t/transitive_property.htm . I've also attached a couple more examples. Feel free to message me if I can help explain it further :)
