Where is most of the liquid water on earth and what would have to be done so that humans could drink it

Most of the liquid water on earth is in the ocean, this water containing salt makes it unsafe for consumption, to make it safe to drink the water would have to be boiled, turn the water into a gas and leaving the salt from the water behind, and then the water must be cooled again so it returns to liquid form!
