What are angular clast?
The pieces of pre-existing rocks or minerals found in sedimentary rocks are known as clasts.Sedimentary rocks which contains these clasts are called clastic
The shape and how round these clasts are is dependent on how far the rock has been transported from the original source and also dependent non the media of transportation.
Rounded clasts are found in those rocks which have been transported far from their source of origin and have been deposited in a high energy environment such as the ocean in which they get reworked over time.
Rocks with angular clasts have not been reworked and transported for longer distance from the original source which is why it is very likely that we will find them at the foot of the mountain.
