No, it just mean that they were working at the same rate of power on the object it doesn't show who more powerful than the other.

[ Answer ]
No, they not equally powerful
[ Explanation ]
Just because they did the same amount of work, does not mean they are equally powerful. One person could have spent 5 hours on a project, but done just as much as the other person. The other person could have spent 3 hours on the same thing and have just as much work, but not be as powerful. It all depends on the quality of the work.
More Powerful: 1 person spends 2 hours on a 3 paragraph essay
Less Powerful: 1 person spends 35 minutes on a 3 paragraph essay
They both did the same thing, but the person that spent 2 hours on it is more powerful. This is true because even thought it was a 3 paragraph essay and the other person did the same essay, she put in much more time and effort, making her essay better quality and more powerful.

The material will still remain afloat.
Explanation:
The fact that the material floated on water as a solid piece means that the material is less dense than water. When a material is less dense than another liquid material, the material floats in the denser material. Cutting holes in the material will not reduce the buoyancy of the material. If the material had not floated as a single solid piece, then it will be said to be denser than the liquid material, and in such a case, if a strategic hole is cut on it to reduce its weight while maintaining its immediate volume, then it can be made to float. This is the principle behind metal floating ships.
