Approximately 22% of high school freshmen fail to graduate from high school on time. The U.S. ranks 22nd out of 27 developed countries in regard to high school graduation rates. Imagine you would like to examine reasons behind the high school dropout rate in the United States. Discuss several factors that you believe are important in determining whether or not someone graduates from high school? Discuss how a person's social location and other social characteristics may be key factors in determining academic achievement?
